This is such a great story!! I am so lucky that I took the time to read it. I've never been scuba diving, but if I ever get the chance to go, this will be in the back of my mind.

Following the guide's instructions versus fleeing a school of hammerhead sharks? Honestly, I'm aligned with your decision.

I was actually swimming towards them, trying to catch up 😂

Wow, what a story! I have to admit, the title alone grabbed my attention. I thought, Wait—how do dolphins and panic attacks go together? 😆

I also just happened to write about dolphins in the latest edition of a new weekly series I started called Weekly Wanderings—although mine were spotted safely from a boat on the Jersey Shore. 😂

But I’m so glad I clicked. You had me on the edge of my seat.

Your piece made me reflect on my own almost-scuba-diving experience. In my case, I basically had the panic attack before I ever made it underwater. 🤦‍♀️ I decided I hated the feeling of breathing through the equipment and much preferred staying above water and snorkeling.

I had been so excited, imagining all the scuba adventures I might have someday, and I never quite got over the feeling that fear had gotten in the way of what could have been an incredible, transformative experience.

So good for you for facing something terrifying, saying “f it,” and diving right back in—fear be damned. Pun very much intended. 😆 ✨💗

Thank you for reading and what a lovely comment! Scuba is either a calming experience, or claustrophobic/uncomfortable. My mom doesn’t dive - she felt the same as you. ❤️

Welcome and hopefully you’ll follow along for more
